Q:
How long has TetNet been in business?
A:
TetNet has been in business since the beginning of 1996.
We have stayed in business so long by consistantly meeting
and exceeding the needs of our clients, many of whom
signed on with us after hearing of our excellent reputation
in the industry for providing reliable, timely, and
cost effective services. For more information about

Q:
Is TetNet an internet service provider?
A:
No. TetNet provides web marketing, site design, e-commerce
programming, and web hosting services. We've decided
to stick to what we're best at, so our clients will
always receive the absolute highest quality of service
possible. All of our staff is extremely skilled and
experienced in these fields, and TetNet has been very
sucessfull in the past by offering these services. As
such, we've seen no need to expand our services into
other fields.
Q:
What types of internet connections does TetNet have?
A:
TetNet currently makes use of 3 dedicated, redundant
high speed connections to major Canadian internet service
providers. In addition, we have two geographically separated
server facilities to provide you with the highest quality
of service and redundancy. Our primary location has
two high speed lines from AT&T
Canada and Telus.
All of our primary services are housed in this location,
including e-mail, DNS, and secure transaction servers.
Our second location has a high speed line from Primus
Canada and acts as a backup for all essential services,
such as e-mail and DNS, ensuring that even in the rare
event of a network outage, your essential services will
not be interrupted.
Q:
Will I be able to access my website with or without the WWW?
A:
Yes! All TetNet hosted website are accessible by visiting
either domain.com or www.domain.com.
Q:
Will I have unlimited access to update my pages?
A:
Yes. You can perform as many updates to your site via
FTP as you like.
Q: Does
e-mail count towards web space?
A:
No. Each POP3 account you activate has its own mailbox
of 10MB, which does not count towards your web space
quota.
Q:
Do you provide telnet access or shell accounts?
A:
No. To maintain the highest possible standards of security,
none of our systems will allow interactive logins by
anyone except our trained server administrators.
Q:
Do you allow hosting of country domains? (.ca, .gr, etc)
A:
Absolutely! Many of our largest websites use country
domains such as .ca or .gr. Please note that the cost
of registering country domains is often higher than
normal .com/.net/.org domains.
Q:
How much does TetNet charge for domain name registration
and renewal?
A:
Domain
name registration (.com/.net/.org) is free when you
prepay for a year of hosting, and renewal is free for
as long as you host your domain with us and continue
to prepay by the year. In all other cases, domain registration
and renewal is $30/year.
Q:
Who owns domain names registered by TetNet?
A:
You do! Your domain will be registerred with you listed
as the Administrative Contact as well as the owner.
TetNet requires only that we be listed as the Technical
Contact so that we can make necessary changes to the
domain to reflect our servers.
Q:
What information must I provide to register a domain
name?
A:
You must provide us with your name (or your company
name), telephone number, postal address, e-mail address,
and optionally your fax number.
Q:
How do I register country domain names?
A:
You must register country domain names with the registrar
for that country. A list of registrars is available
here.
Q:
How long does it take to activate my domain?
A:
If you are registerring a new domain name, it should
take no longer than 48 hours for the registration process
to be complete and for your site to be accessable if
you've signed up for a hosting package. If you're transferring
and existing domain, it may take as long as two weeks
to work.
Q:
Will I have access to see who's visiting my website?
A:
Yes. With the click of a mouse you'll have access to
view our very comprehensive stats package for your website.
It includes useful information such as the number of
hits, the IP addresses of visitors, most accessed pages,
most used browsers and operating systems, even the search
terms people were using when they found your page!
